Nanobots & Blood Clots

When I got a big blood clot in my leg a few years back it was scary. If you don’t know, 1 in 3 people who get a blood clot die from it. Happily, I was in the minority side of that statistic.

At that time, I was joking with a couple other nerdy friends, whining that I expected there would be a nanobot they could send down into the clot to clear it out and pouting that it wasn’t available yet.

Today I read that progress has been made on this front. A new technique has been created to eliminate clots using nanodroplets and an ultrasound drill. Amazing!

We really are seeing science fiction turn to fact within our lifetimes.
