Peer Pressure is Stronger than Truth

There was a groundbreaking (and disturbing) study on peer pressure many years back which demonstrated that a vast majority of us will agree with a crowd, even when we a sure that the crowd’s opinion is false.

As we become more divided as a country and it gets harder and harder to access contrary opinions which may cast doubt on the messages we hear every day, how will we be able to overcome our own tendencies to prioritize our sense of belonging over everything else?

And how do we get others to recognize the truth when it’s in conflict with what their group espouses?
