Who's in charge here?

I was reminded tonight that I am not responsible for someone else's reaction to my actions. Particularly when my action is saying no to wanting to date and their reaction is to be super pissy and hurt about it. And I am so SO not responsible for them maintaining a level of bitterness or crankiness about it years later.The really annoying thing about this is: I actually had to be reminded.In truth, we are responsible for our own reactions to any given event. I am choosing not to be affected by another's crankiness, however much it might be presented as comedy.
